Among the rice items my all time favourite is biryani. I love the aromatic rice served with simple raitha :) . While doing the grocery shopping this time I had picked MTR Biyani Paste. So tired Baby Corn Biryani. Must say when you are in no mood for an elobarate cooking and craving for biryani you can surely use this. I made few changes here as the package says just to add rice :)
Baby Corn Biryani Using MTR Biryani Paste
Preparation Time: 20 min
Cooking Time: 40 min
Serves: 4
Served with: Raitha/any gravy
Difficulty Level: Medium
Ingredients
1 cup cleaned baby corn cut into half an inch
1 /4 cup fresh/frozen green peas
1 cup packed thinly sliced onion
1.5 cup rice of your choice
2 tbsp. oil
To Cook Rice
2 tsp. oil
1 /2 “cinnamon stick
1 star anise
2 cloves
2 cardamom whole crushed
Method
First step is to cook the rice so heat oil in a pressure cooker and once it’s hot add all the spices and fry till you get nice aroma, to this add the washed rice and fry till it turns pale colour. Add the green peas along with it. Add 3 cups of water and let the rice cook for three whistles, i.e. about 20 min
Meanwhile put the baby corn in a kadai with little water, turmeric powder & salt to taste and let it cook till done. I cooked till it had that crunchy texture. Keep aside to cool down. Once cool down empty the contents of the packet and mix with baby corn and keep it aside.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a frying pan add the onion and fry till it golden brown. Once the rice is completely cooled down add in all the mixture together and heat it before serving
